Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Anchor ("Anchor", "we", "us") for using the Anchor mobile app and this website. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Anchor.

1. Who can use Anchor

You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use Anchor only with a parent's or guardian's consent, and they accept these terms for you. You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account.

2. What Anchor does, and doesn't

Anchor helps you plan, focus and build habits: it ranks tasks, plans goals around your routine, blocks apps you choose during focus, rings reminders and offers AI coaching and quizzes. It's a self-help tool. It isn't medical, psychological, financial or career advice, and it doesn't guarantee exam, interview or productivity results.

App blocking and alarms depend on permissions and system features that phone makers and operating systems control. Battery savers, OS updates or turned-off permissions can stop a block or delay an alarm. Don't rely on Anchor for anything safety-critical, such as taking medicine on time.

3. AI features

AI answers, quiz questions, mock-interview scores and plans are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything important before acting on it. Don't enter information in the coach that you're not comfortable sending to our AI providers (see the privacy policy).

4. Anchor Plus

• Plans. Monthly (₹99 / month), yearly (₹999 / year) and lifetime (₹1,999, one payment). Prices shown in the app for your region and store apply, including any taxes the store adds.
• Free trial. The yearly plan may start with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription. One trial per person.
• Renewal. Monthly and yearly plans renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Google Play or the App Store charges you and handles renewals.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time in your Google Play or App Store subscriptions. You keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the store under its policies. We can't issue refunds for store purchases directly.
• Lifetime. "Lifetime" means for as long as we operate Anchor and offer Plus features, on the account that bought it.
• Changes. We may change what Plus includes or its price. Price changes apply from your next renewal and the store will tell you first.

Free-plan limits (for example, 3 blocked apps, 3 habits and 3 alarms) may change over time.

5. Your content

Your tasks, goals, notes and other content stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Anchor for you, including sending them to service providers as described in the privacy policy. You're responsible for the content you add and for having the right to add it.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse Anchor. In particular, don't:

• break the law, or use Anchor to harass or harm anyone (including in study rooms);
• try to access other people's accounts or data, or probe, scan or overload our systems;
• copy, resell or reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
• use automated means to create accounts, join the waitlist or call our API outside the app;
• use AI features to generate unlawful content or try to get around their safety limits.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules. You can stop using Anchor and ask us to delete your account at any time.

7. Our app

Anchor, its design, code and brand belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own purposes under these terms. The Nunito typeface is used under the SIL Open Font License; icons are from Font Awesome Free.

8. Changes and availability

We keep improving Anchor and may add, change or remove features. We aim for Anchor to be available all the time but can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. If we ever shut down Anchor, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.

9. Disclaimers and liability

Anchor is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a missed exam, deadline or opportunity), and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000 if you haven't paid anything. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that can't be limited.

10. Store terms

If you got Anchor from the App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its support. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply to your purchase.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in India have jurisdiction, without taking away any right you have to bring a claim where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it applies. Continuing to use Anchor after that means you accept the new terms.
